Blast Rooms

Blast-It-All® fabricated and installed this unique blast facility. The architect required that the floor could not be cut (excavated). Blast-It-All® designed a sweep in system that included two (2) sweep in recovery sections twenty feet long.

Room size:  12 foot Wide x 20 foot Long x 10 foot High

Ventilation: full cross draft ventilation using a BIA 7200 dust collecting system, driven by a 20 HP fan

Recovery: two (2) forty foot long recovery sections, connected at the rear of the enclosure by a sequencing transition. A 2500 CFM high static fan provided the recovery air.

Blast: a single 6.5 Cu foot pressure vessel, was provided with a
twenty-five cu ft storage hopper.

Blast media: aluminum oxide, 60 grit

Blast Rooms may include the following facilities. Blast rooms with incandescent or fluorescent lighting, double hinged swing out loading doors available. One personnel door with viewing window. One set of operators gear, ventilated hood with belt air regulator, air purifier with interlocking air hose from purifier to belt regulator, optional. Air blow-off hose with finger tip control nozzle. Reclamation system with ASME coded pressure vessel, blast hose with carbide nozzle, on/off blast control at end of blast hose near to nozzle, with manual push button, or automatic purge control. Dust collector with automatic bag shakers. High efficiency exhauster with sound muffler for indoor installations; weather hood only for outdoor installations.

  • No interconnecting duct work or air line-connections are provided between major components.
  • No electricity provided from pre-wired control panel to main disconnect switch, motor starter, and automatic bag shakers on dust collectors.
